Well it really is all systems go in the world of volunteering in Southwark. Community Service Volunteers have launched their annual ‘Make A Difference Day’ campaign with activities having already begun in Southwark; there is huge momentum building around next summer’s Olympics with so many volunteering roles in sports, arts and culture. 17 August 2011 – London 2012: Volunteer to be part of the magic and part of the legacy!
With less than a year to go until the Olympics come to London we are dedicating this month’s ebulletin to news and volunteering opportunities associated with the Games. Volunteers are absolutely key to making London 2012 a success. Over 78,000 people will volunteer to help make the Olympics happen! Why not join them?
12 July 2011 – Volunteer your time and join Southwark’s stars of the community
There’s been lots of celebrating Southwark’s volunteers this summer. Off the back of our successful Volunteers’ Fair in which we were able to register over 80 new people, we’ve been sharing your volunteer stories and encouraging people to think about how they can support their local communities. We would like to say a big thank you those of you who supported us with this campaign and agreed to have your stories showcased in local libraries, parks and cafes during Volunteers’ Week. Your volunteering exploits are already inspiring others to get involved in their communities.
