Christmas Day Celebration Volunteers @ The People Care Association
The People Care Association is known for its big Christmas Day party for isolated elderly people in Southwark. Every year they get around 350 guests and provide them with door-to-door transport, a traditional Christmas meal, entertainment and bingo at Bacon’s College in Rotherhithe.
They need the help of volunteers to pick people up and drive them to the party, escort the drivers, provide general help and support at the event; serve food and drinks; and generally ensure the party goes off with a swing!
They also need help to set up the hall on the 23rd December. There is a lot of work to be done in a short time to make this annual event a success.
This special day would not be able to happen without the help of dozens of volunteers so if you would like to get involved please do so.
Make some new friends and make a difference this Christmas with The People’s Care Association.
Volunteers with their own transport who can pick up the elderly people and take them to the party are especially needed.
Volunteers helping on 23rd December to set up are needed between 9am and 11am. On Christmas Day volunteers will be involved from 10am to 6pm but no one has to stay all day.
If you would like to be part of this wonderful Christmas scheme contact Les Alden at lha@looksouth.net and he will be delighted to hear from you.
