trustees
The Volunteer Centre is run by a board of 9 trustees. We are lucky to have trustees with a diverse mix of skill and experiences including that of local residents, volunteer management, active citizenship, big companies, employee supported volunteering, supported volunteering and engaging hard to reach communities. The board meets quarterly as do its two subgroups that cover Human Resources and Finance and General Purposes.

Michal Bukola
Michael became a trustee of Volunteer Centre Southwark in 2007. He became a trustee after a successful term on Southwark Alliance, the local strategic partnership for the borough, where he was one of the resident members on the Alliance’s board. An active citizenship enthusiast and follower of local politics more generally, he’s had previous involvement with number of local voluntary groups including Southwark Patients Forum where he once was Chair; Blackfriars Settlement, St. John Ambulance Service and a School Governor of a local school. Michael works in the City of London as a business adviser.
Michael’s interests include both following and participating in a number of sports, particularly rugby and football, and he can often be found wasting his Saturday afternoons covered in mud and failing miserably to understand the offside rule. His frequent ambition is to have more time to sleep.
